BOY SCOUT ACTIVITIES FOR WEEK

Yesterday and today, parents, teachers and frifTHJs of Boy Scouts of Hammond have been invited to attend their troop nwetiriK's . Because, of th nearness to Linoolns birthday special exercises have been held in which the incidents of his life, so familiar to all good scouts, have le;n recounted. Anniversary Week ami especially the Father and Son banquet feature was boosted yesterday at the luncheon of the Chamber of Commerce when Scout Kxt-cutive I. K. Scott addressed the business men. Their co-operation has been promised in seeing that every scout is given a chance to att.-nd the banquet whether his dad comes alorfj or riot. Today the bird houses are beini; placed In the window of the Northern Cas & Electric Co. Tbero are houses from all parts of Hammond. The types are suited for all kinds of birds which are welcome In these parts. The w inn'.ng houses of the contest will be given a prominent place in the window. Saturday vill be the all-city hike. Scouts will mobilize at the Central school and atrat on the hiks. Dads are invited to corne along. Each man will carry enough "grub" for oms meal. Scouting will be riven attention in practically all of the churches Sunday. Scouts will attend services in uniform. As it Is also Lincoln's birthday, the day has double significance.
