Carroll, aged 63 years, fur more than a quarter of a century a resident of Hammond, died yesterday at his home, 343 Oak street, following a four months' illness. He was an uncle of Janes Carroll, superintendent of the Gary Telephone company. His widow, lx daug-htcrs and one on survive Mr. Carroll. The funeral win be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the late residence. Th body will be shipped to San Pierre, Ir.c!., for burial. E. J. Burns will conduct the funeral. MAYOR ORDERS PARK BOARD DISMISSALS Mayor Callahan, of East Chicago, Dismisses Fowler and Dewey. Charles E. Fowler and J. S. Dewey, the remaining two members on the East Chicago Park board, were dismissed yesterday by Mayor Frank Callahan, who in a communication addressed to the city clerk and park co.nmissioners ( " the Cltey of Ea.st Chicago, charged extravagant expenditure of moneyand inefficiency of the members in conducting their offices on the park board. It was generally expected when the new administration took office the first of this year that all members of tht board would resign.
