Whiting Owls Ready for East Chicago Tonight The Owls hare been pointed for the IZksI Chicago Club game which will be played at the Whiting Community Centre on Saturday night. On Thursday night the Owls htld thtir last practice before the tig game and are ready to give East Chicago a sample of what is Itnown as real basketball in Whiting. There could be no better

! judges of basketball than the fans of

Whiting. They have witnessed the highest grade of basketball to be snen in tbo middle west for the past ten years net only In Whiting for they have traveled with Ihtir tearaa to points ailfar as Detroit and Kanras C:ty. Because the Whiting fans are so familiar with the best kind of basketball no team representing Whiting would dare sdvertise itself as being up to their standard ' unless it could deliver the goods. Tbe Owls havs readied that point of efficiency the fans rtqulra ar.d now hold themselves out as such. They promise to play basketball a"l the time rather than indulge in petty quarrels that prove so disgusting to lovers of the game. It is understood that th East Chicago Club has in view the same objective as the Whiting team. It is the desire of both teams to win from scratch, and the Whiting team will exert every effort in an attempt to make everything equal except the ability to play Vtsketball. In this particular both teams want tha result to prove which team is superior. Should East Chicago 16.e Saturday night and de.feat the Big Five next Tuesday 'it Is up to the fans to draw their conclusions. . The Chicago Boys Club i? coming !o Whiting to play ths curtain-raiser to the big game again?t the Hoosie'Ciub. The Chicago Boys Club needs no introduction and the Whiting club, composed of boys belonging to the

18 Congregations! church, is represented 172 on the basket cottrt by Whiting new.171 boys. These beys are seeking con-

171 .-olation for the loss of the Newsboys' 163 baseball championship lasi summer to 169 the Chicago Poy.V Club. This game 167 promises to be ss hotly contted as

167 nnv ever seen in Whitinc.
