Friday, January 27, 1922. APPEALED 10 COURT AT THE HUB

Three of the seven cases, for violation of the state liquor law tried in the East Chicago court before Ju.jg'R Allen P. Twyman and found guilty j-esterday afternoon, were appealed to the Lake ccunty criminal court at Crown Point by attorneys representing the defendants. The fine of $130 and sentence of thirty-five days at the Ptate pena! farm g-i'ven toy Judge Twyman was too much for Frank Kealis, 3920 Kim street and Kasmer Paulanwky, 3S0S Beach street, two men found guilty of passing the bottle around among the boys and collecting a revenue. Attorney M. Havran, representing these two men. has appealed their cases to trie county criminal court. Mike Midxelewski, 4916 Baring avenue, found Kuilty of operating a still and fined 1130 and sentenced to thirty-five days to the siate penal farm, ha.s also appealed his case to the Lake county criminal court. Paul Roppel, 656 lGlst street, Ea-t Chicago, was found g-uilty of disposing of intoxicating liquor, was tinea $1S0 and sentenced to thirty-five days to the state penal farm. Dan Sarla, 3534 Pennsylvania averse, Indiana Harbor, found guilty of operating a still and -having a quantity of mesh in his possesion, was rineii $100 and costs. Attorney R- O.
