As the county Is now being organized for the annual December campaign for tuberculosis funds, signalized by the' Christmas seal sale, it will be Interesting for the public to know what such work costs. During the past year the main item has been the nursing service. A nurse, Mrs. Edna Bivins. has devoted her time to tuberculosis work exclusively, giving care to tuberculosis patients and preventing Infection wherever possible, as education in matters of sanitation is of prime importance in the prevention of this disease. In fact the prevention work is far the most important in tho fight against tuberculosis. Mrs. Bivins has about 115 cases on 'her list, at present: 53 from Gary; 21 East Chicago; 21 Hammond; 7 Indiana Harbor; 11 AVhiting; 1 Lowell; 1 Hobart; 1 Griffith; 1 Merrlllvllle; 2 reported at Crown Point for investigation; 4 at other points in the county. Sam says that his wife attacked him -with a large knife and threatened to kill him. The plaintiff says he was compelled to lea-ve their home on account of the threats of his wife .nd was afraid to go back fearing that she might carry out some of them. There are two children whom he seeks the custody of. HAS FIVE CHILDREN; WIFE WANTS DIVORCE Mary Pavlenlch has filed suit for divorce in the Gary Lake Superior court against her husband. Frank Pavlenlch. She states in her complaint that there are five children in the family and Frank falls to provide properly for them. She also alleges that her husband is quarrelsome.
