Davis of this city, will leave Wednesday morning in Mrs. Shilling's car for Cincinnati, O., where the former will spend the winter with her mother and sister, while the latter will visit with relatives ana friends. Mrs. El PeBriae Sr., who has been spending a few days with her daughter In Chicago is returning home today. The Indies Aid of the Congregational church will hold their monthly business meeting and social Wednesday afternoon In the church parlor. Last Saturday evening the Misses Lucille and Eloulse Thompson of Northcote ave. entertained a number of their friends at a masquerade party. The first meeting of the civic department of the Indiana Harbor Woman's club which was to have been held Wednesday afternoon has been postponed lndelinitely on account of ttspeaker, Mrs. F. J. MacNIsh of Oak Park being unable to be here at this time. The Ladies Aid of the Methodist Episcopal church of Indiana Harbor meets Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. James Battersby, 4113 Ivy st.. at 2:30 o'clock. Tomorrow evening a banquet will be served at the Cafe Lafayette in honor of the Graver Corp. baseball team. 'Xhe lining room will be turned over to this

party from 6:30 to 10 o'clock, after which the public will be served as usual. ; The residents of the 141st block on ; Baring avenue had another of their . justly famous community parties Sati urday niht to celebrate hallowe'en. ; This "block" has been long noted for its community activities but It is the opinion of all the guests that this event : outclassed any given previously.

There was a party for the "kiddies" in the afternoon under th- direction of the ladies in the basement oi Chas. Green. The time was spent in the old standard Hallowe'en games of "bobing for apples," "eating doughnuts, etc" After several hours of this a delightful lunch was served. In the evening the children were left home under suitable care while the "grownups" cut up. This phase of the party was held in the basement of the home of Harry Fish. The entrances and wails were decorated with skeletons, witches, and other suitable hangings. The guests were even more gaudily decorated in hard time costumes representing the "rube," the "hobo," the Puritan maid and others lndeecrlble. The entertainment consisted of square dances, Virginia reel, musical chairs, bands, etc. Following this a cafeteria lunch was served consisting of hotdogs, apples, coffee, pickles and doughnuts. Some of the guests were seen to line up at least six times, but there was enough for all. After turning fte clock back, another hour of hilarity was enjoyed and finally all departed at an early hour.
