EBERT PREPARES
MAROO SFORGAME
Coach Ebert yesterday put the W. H. Maroons through their lust scrimmage before, the Liberty game Sunday. New plays were used, in preparation, against tha strong F.nglewood eleven, who are coming to Hammond with a clean slate, having won four consecutive games this season. The South Side boys from Chicago are bringing with them two all state high school halfbacks and it is these two men the Maroons will have to stop, however Coach Ebert has worked his men heavily on defense and there should be little trouble in stopping the- allstate men. The Maroons will line up the same as last Sunday, when they defeated the atrong Iwcll Legion aggregation by a lone touchdown, with two exceptions, that being at fullback and tho other at left end. this is not worrying the Little Giant mentor, as ho experts to play the smashing Monahan at fullback and the fleet Burley at left end, the other men will lineup in their regular position, with Zimmerman at "center, Gregg and Reese at the guard position, Walters and Shipreck at tackles, Burley and Honey at ends, Volkman. Sheridan, Glick. Monahan and Wirkus will form the backfield, with Capt. Chayken directing the team from the quarterback posit ion. Fans .who wish to see a real football gama are welcomed over to the West Hamond ball park, as Manager Chayken has booked one of the best teams in the Chicago League for this game. The Maroons will be in the gimo every minute Sunday, as they expect to show football tfandom a wonderful aggregation of football skill and with Coach Kbert at the head r,f all then the fans will no doubt agree with the boys when they yee them in action. The score was 14 to 21 in Penn State's favor in the final period when Charlie Buell. premier kicker and quarter, hurled a forward pass to Churchill, which Churchill carried over for a touchdown. Then the goal from touchdown was needed to tie the score. Buell. knowing that defeat hung on the outcome of that kick, delivered, the ball sailing over the bar between the posts.
