Notices of this mectlnsr were published in the papers and all independent candidates wre invited to attend. Mr. "Wickey did not appear at that conven1 ion. The convention selected as its name "The Citizens party" and as Its emblem the star. Mr. Frank Callahan was nominated a.s tho candidate for mayor. Candidates were selected for all other offices. On the ninth of Sepimbe'-, the duly organized Citizens party filed a petition with the requisite signers asking that its candidates be placed on thi official ballot. The sinw day Mr. Wlckey filed a petition for mayor under the name of the Citizens' ticket. Twenty signers are required to a petition and Mr. "VVickey had twenty-five.
