Inexpensive Protection
Deeds, wills, valuable securities are only records on paper and they can be destroyed by fire or stolen when kept in a box in the home. These papers should have absolute protection, such as the los3-proof vaults of this bank afford. The low rental of $3 a year relieves you of all worry as to their safety.

First TmjstAnd Savings Bank EAST CHICAGO INDIANA Capital and Surplus, $65,000.00 At East Chicago's Busiest Corner The Glare in our Skies 50 Years Ago Of course, there was no East Giicago on October 9. 1871. when the Chicago fire began. But for several nights the skies above the sand-dune wilderness that is now the flourishing cities of Gary, Hammond, Whiting and East Chicago was crimsoned by the reflection of the holacaust. The glare reached far out in the heavens, it was vivid in the Kankakee marshes, it was a scarlet portent of the occurrence of one of the great tragedies of modern times. Out of that terrible disaster there has come a great movement for food the fire prevention movement. Adherence to it is asked ly our Governor, promoted by our Chamber of Commerce, aided by thii Bank. It is a hfe-savir.g, a property-saving movement that means much to all of us.

The story of ten million American roothes. The story of a mighty problem of the home. The story you will advertise with honest tears.
Your Water Company Did you realize the many services that your Water Company must perform for you? Water for drinking. Water for cooking. Water for cleaning. Water for laundrying. Water for bathing. Water for lawns and gardens. Water for steam heating. Water for industrial uses. Water for fire protection. And water when and where you want it for all uses. Think of the investment, the trained organization, the marvelous machinery and scientific methods that brings clear, clean water to you merely by a turn of the faucet.
