GOES TO ATTEND COXTEHEXCB Iter. George B. Jones of the East Chicaaro Methodist Episcopal church,
left yesterday for the annual meeting of the Northwest Indiana conference In eeSon at South Bend, from September 27th to October 3rd. It is the general assumption that Rev, Jones will recelv another assignment while away at this coaferenoe and that East Chicago will lose relations with one of the best known religious educators. Kerv. Jones ha been pastor of the Mast Chicago Methodist Episcopal church nearly five year accomplishing success far above the expectation of many when considering the present financial conditions under which he worked and haa attained what seemed to many the almost Impossible in the equipping of the East Chicago church for religious education. An extract from a resolution adopted at the last church board meeting Is quoted : "WHEREAS: Brother George B. Jones has been for nearly five years our most faithful pastor, we hereby express our appreciation of him and hla work among us. We recognise him as a eermonlzer of unus'ial ability. His sermons cover a variety of progressive subjects and are presented in a logical and forceful manner." During the period Rev. Jones has served as pastor of the Eirt Chicago Methodist church he has received 195 new members, administered 117 baptisms, married 43 couples and performed 100 funerals. Interior Improvements made In the church the Isst two years of Rev. Jones' pastorship Is estimated at $5,000.
