Announcement is made today by Mr. Morris of the S. & S. njimge and Sale Co. local distributors for the Saxon Puplex of a reduction In price on all models of Saxons. This makes a total reduction of around 5500 and Mr. Morris says there Is no reason on earth now for not buying a Saxon and anticipates a bair.-r month or October.
Is the farmer going to buy this fall? As one writer iut8 It, "many a nianula -turer and merchant would uleep better tonight if he knew the answer. A "leadinir farm Journal determined to
find out whether the American farmer will be in the market for purchases and. if so. what will he buy? The
research department of this farm publication adopted a novel plan to get the riKht answer. A man named Smith in the research department calculated j if he sent his questions to all the
rimitnis on tne publications lists r.e would fret a real line on the farmers' ideas ou the subject of fall purchases. So out went a questionnaire to the 12,824 Smiths who were wubscribers to the farm Journal. The replies, which were heavy, were used as a basis ror estimating what the entire J, 100.000 farm subscribers were going to do with the money they receive from the marketing of their rroducts. One of the most Interesting: features developed by the questionnaire is that
eleven and five-tenths per cent of the 1921 models Smiths will buv automobiles, makins
in the county , a total . of 126,500 tars to be bought
by the 1.100,000 farmers. In
i-bo.ving the number of cars
for which farmers will be in the market, the answers revealed that llfi.200 hae already determined upon the make of car which they will purchase. Of this number 66.000 designated a certain low priced car. Of the remaining 50,200, the figures show, 22,000 or more than 43 per cent, will buy Buick cars. Of all cars specified Buick was second on the lisTs Und within Jts price field led the list by a wide marirain. This unsolicited testimonial, representing the prestige of Buick cars among the American farmers, is reg-arded by

A regular stock model Buick was turned on its side showing' a piston removed from the motor and the various workings of the Buick power plant. And the most interesting and remarkable part of the v hole exhibit was the remarks by several of Hammond automobile dealers that it would be nothing to put on a show of that sort right bure in Hammond that would make that shdwlng hop soma to hold its laurals. One of the first laws to regulate motor vehicle traffic In Kansas, enacted in 1903, was the equipment of not less than ten nor more than twenty ropSs to, at all times, tral! behind the car when in motion. The purpose of the trailing ropes was for the safety of "mangled and bleeding pedestrians."
Just suits the motorist who, by habit, has come to expect MORE from an automobile than is usually given.

THIS IS A "STUDEBAKER" YEAR For the first eight months of 1921. our sales of Studebaker Can were 41 greater than for the same period of 1920, and 101 greater than for the same period of 1919. For the same period, our sales of Repair Parts were 13 less than in 1920, and 3 less than in 1919. On September 1st, 1921, there were approximately 116,000 more Studebaker Cars in operation than tvo years ago, and yet our parts ' business is 3 less than it was in 1919. This proves conclusively that Studebaker Cars are standing up in service and staying out of repair shops, to a degree unexcelled, we believe, by any cars of whatever price.
