ANOTHER SCALP FOR SCATENAS TJw Htinroood Scatenas added another Tlfltory ,to their list Sunday, when they defeated the strong: North Bide aa-gTeat ion at Douglas park by a. score of 11-4. Manager Newman revised his lineup for this came, playIns; Babe Simon at the keystone sack and Oorg;e Potts at third and surinp the rrioe of Buck Bakalar who put the boys down with two hits. Opposed to Bakalar was Lefty Cole, late of the Calumet nine, who was a member of the Interstate league. Cole we rated as one of the best pitchers In the league and Manager Schofer knowing; of this secured him to beat tha flcatenas. Cole worked splendid for three innings, allowing no hits or any man to reach first, but in the Scateha fourth he weakened when he Issued two walks and Sky Meyer's triple followed by a single by Bakalar scored four runs. Buck had the enemy safe until the fifth when he weiked two men and two hits, the only ones of the same for the North Side boys netted them four runs, after that he had them eating out of his hand. The Scatenas scored two in the sixth on Simons two-base hit. a fielder's choice, a single by Kennedy and a double by Bakalar. In the ninth the Heats score five more rnns on Simon's single, a walk to Potts and hits by Kennedy, Barman, North and Myers. Bakalar besides pitching a whale of a frame, was also there with the bat. when he knockeJ out a single and a double In four trips to the plate. Kennedy also led tae attack with the stick getting two hit and a sacrifice In fire trips to the plate. Walter Hess the old reliable man caught a stellar game for the Scats. Although the whole Scatena nine played good ball. The stars for the afternoon were WaHsio Love and Barman, these two fielders snapped some beautiful line drives down, whan it looked like extra base hits. A large crowd turned out to sCe the boys perform, and it looks that the Scats have not lost their following, as fully three hundred loyal rooters from the Kast Hide Journeyed over to witness the game. Manager Newman has an open date for next Sunday and he would like to arrange a game with the strong Forester team who made a good showing against the champion K. C. team: The score: Keats 000 401 005 11 11 2 N. S. A. C 000 040 000 4 2 3 Two-base hits Simons. Bakalar. Thre base hit Myere. Struck out By Bakalar. ; by Cole, fi.
