Kd smacked the ball for two base but Horlbecfc was caught at the home plate. Then came the rally. When It ended Hammond had crowded three rung across making- the score 8 to S. Gary came to bat and then suddenly decided to register a kick against Hammond's proceedure. They said the boys had batted out of order and make several oth-r chargea but th umpa knew better and told them that even If they had a kick It should have been voiced before Hammond took the field again. Gary on the other hand used four pinch hitters In the last half of the ninth but ws unable to score. Hammond by taking two out of three wins the series. Saturday evening when the automobile in which she was riding with her hus'band wa overturned at the corner of Sohl and Sibley streets. Mr. Gross was driving south on Soli! while C. F. Flegal. 3924 Grapevine ptreet. Indiana Harbor, was driving his car west on Sibley street. They collided at the corner and the Gross machine toppled over, pinning Mrs. Gross beneath It. She suffered only minor injuries and was abie to proceed to her home.
