The Ladies' Aid of the First Presbyterian church will meet tomorrow afternoon in the church parlors. Mrs. Jlahargr and Mrs. Spenser hostesses for the day. Each lady is asked to bring a pound of some kind of foodstuff to contribute tu the relief of the poor of the city. Miss Mary P.yrne of Seymour, Ind., is the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan D. FALL FESTIVAL OPENING

The bill starts with Valentine and Bell in a sketch entitled "The Furniture Movers," and every bit of furniture in a well filled room Is moved on wheels the most of them turning out to be -bicycles. Both members of this team are. exceptionally good. Then comes Bobby Adams and Jewel Barnett, two unusually pretty young ladies in an act consisting of harmony singing, small talk and piano playing. And how these girls do sing. Bryan Lee and Mary Cranston offer a jolly act entitled "A Modern Romance." and complete with Bryan Lee's perfect tenor voice and Mary Crans tons of good singing and breezy talk. Last, but not least, we have Phina & Company in "An Evening at Home," a very complete act of singing, dancin; and fun.

According to the testimony before Justice of the Peace Prest, Miss Peyton provoked the slap m the free by reminding Lawrence of a grocery bill which she said he owed down Hlntc. Justice Prest dismissed the provoke charge against the woman and lined Lawrence J15.20 for assault. Miss Peyton no longer reside swith her siste rand brother-in-law.

EOY IS ARRESTED Mjke Stemper, 13, 291 Sheffield ave., Hammond, was arrested in a local tiieatre yesterday for robbing the dressing rooms. The boy will be taken to Crown Point today to answer to the charge of larceny. It is not his first offense.
