John Geriach is quite ill and under ft physicians care. Ho !j of an advanced age. being 76 and has served In the Civil' War. Mrs. John Pfesffer and sons were Hammond visitors on Saturday. The Town Board meeting will be held Wednesday evening, the 14th, and everybody of the town and surroundii.gr corporation are requested to be pt-rsent aar there will be some very important matters discussed which should be of interest to the residents of St. John and the corporation. Miss Florence Keilman of Englewood Is visiting here with hor mother. MDs Mary Eamnur of Hammond, is visiting- here with her mother. Mrs. Tliomas Nolan was a Hammond visitor on Monday. The C. O. F. meeting will b held on Thursday evening with election of officer. Al Miller and family of Crown Point visited Sunday here with John Starke. Sr., and family.
J. O'Hern and family spent the we'k end with Mrsv C. Groth&iu and daughter. The Crown Point Juniors played the Tjyer Juniom on Sunday after ric'on. The scor was 20 to 3 in favor of Dyer Juniors. Several of our young m n attended the ball game at Griffith on Sunday .f ternoon. Mr. Phil Keilman and family and Mrs. Mary Keilman and daughter Es. felia. spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. Weber of Crown Point. Chas. Keilman transacted business at Chicago on Monday. The Sophomore and Freshmen of the Dyer hitrh school will start a real basket ball team. A corner of the school yard wUl be pcraped and filled In with clay for this purpose. The Vnion Church is getting a new shingle rocf. A miscellaneous shower was given In honor of Mabel Hartman at her home on Monday evening. A large crowd was present and she received many pretty and useful gifts. Everybody had an enjoyable time.
