Frankfort, Indiana, July 30, 1921. 8-1 ANOTHER NEAR DROWNING AT MILLER BEACH Exhautsed by the waves which were gradually washing her out into the lake Miss Tillie Leaditt. 1247 W. Slst street, Chicago, had a narrow escape from drowning at MilleT beach east of Gary yesterday afternoon. Lifeguard Jack Gordon, saw her plight, from the shore and went to her rescue. Reaching her side he found her ready to give up the battle against the waves which had almost sapped out her life. With some difficulty, Gordon was able to bring her to shore where she was revived after life saving memorts had been applied. Gordon is being complimented for his work and bravery this season having rescued a number of other people from the lake this year. He was among a number that passed the Red Cross life saving tests at the "Y" tank early In the season which entitled him to become one of the guards at the bach. The other guards also had to undergo and pass the same tests.
