(BY NEWTON" C PARK lit STAFF CORRCSPCNOt NT '. . N SERVICE LuNLON, Juy 21,.- uf. at Li. itiin has formally warned Flame that unless she abandons her pn-.-fnt policy there will be a general brcuk-uy of tin 13irupcan Entente, It was teamed this aftcrjioun. This warning was ror.Uivied In a note dispatch by Lord Cl -lion. Foreign Sec. retary, hi reply to a ;,-'. :ous communication from I'rcmii-r 1. r and of France dealing- with Upper r-.it a. The French Not', wii.c'i was received here yesterady, wa. dis. ribed as 'he sharpest of all the Fra i.r o-Hrit ih Exchanges. One British off oial. who was conversant with the ooiiN-n. said that the tone resembled an fiumat.im" and that the language "was turn parable with a threat to sever Aug iu-Frencn re'.at lor.." Great Britain in h'-r reply, dt i lar d that a continuance of tin Frencn policy of acting alone threatens to brea down the Entente Cordiait. Great Brita;n repca-fd t..at there wa. no necessity for sending a Fid reinforcements to Upper SiU-sia. at this time. The Er!t!sh Coir.mun'.cahon concludes with the hope that the French note of Thursday la not "the cunsi.iored opinion of the French government."
The bill Introduced by Representative Hlckey provided for tha appointment of another Judge but as he would also sit at Indianapolis the re lief sought would not bo afforded, backers of the new plan say.

IMPORTANT COURT PLANNED FOR HAMMOND (Continued from page one.) ed the assignment of Judge Anderson to the east district while a new Jude will be named for the west. Under the present system ourt is supposed to be held at Hammond certain periods of the year but Judge Anderson seltiom finds an opportunity to leave Indianapolis becau-e of the press of business ther . The tcderal court of Indiana is said to te two years behind its docket and beeomin,; more congested each year. Hammond furnishes a large share of the grist of the court at Indianapolis and would have still more but for the inconvenience of traveling to and from the capital. The cost of transporting a number of witnesses Is al
most prohibitive In many cases. Th-
same cry is raised from Fort Wayne. New Albany and Evansviile. "The only people who will oppose this plan." are the lawyers and hold inen of Indianapolis and thy wni put up a stiff fight." said a Hammond attorney who is heartily in favor o: the change. "It has been great stuff for them and they will not let it ?l:p away if they can help it. What we must do is arouse the people of th districts which for years have been stubbed by Indianapolis. Anyone who has had matters in the federal court realizes the inconvenience and will ba in favor of the Improvement." Jlr. Adamson, Judge Harris and Mr. Davis have taken the initiative in the proposed west district and are receiving promises of support wherever they announce the plan. Jlr. Davis is the republican candidate for mayor of Tere Haute and is one of the live wires of his territory.
