Marquis Curmn, British foreigrn secretary, has proposed to the United States, an immediate conference, of the, ambassadors of the Pacific powers in London to work out the preliminary lines of a settlement - far east problems. It was learned this afternoon. The proposal was made to George Harvey, the American ambassador, at a conference at the foreign office late Thursday. Marquist Curion notified Ambassador Harvey that Premier Hug-hes of Australia insists upon direct Australian participation in President Harding proposed conference in Washington. In view of this demand the forfign secretary suggested the ambassadorial council should be in session while the British dominion premiers nr meeting here. Marqutst Curzon's view was that together the ambassadors and the dominion premiers could establish the general lines of a Pacific M'ttl'-mcnt . Premier Lloyd George met the dominion premiers today to discuss plans for the Washington conference. It was stated at the foreign office that no r'.ply has been received yet to Marquis Curzon's proposal for a con-(ir-r.i.c of ambassadors in this city at once. r A preliminary conference of ambassador wruld leave out France and Italy as they arc not Pacific powers. HIGH SCHOOL BOY INJURED Fifteen year old Wayne Baten. Emrrson high school Gary student, was painfully injured on the site of the ;d Aetna Explosives, Co.. at Aetna, f-arly yesterday when some of the fun cotton soaked in the ground exploded.
