rJ",HE lowly and uncultured Tartars when books fell into their possession ate them' to acquire the knowledge contained therein. They doubtless suffered indigestion. At least, they weren't overlooking any bet. There are mistakes both of commission and omission. Better, by far, to be satisfied that you have done your best and endure indigestion, than overlook real opportunities and feel the pangs of unavailing regret The advertisements you will find in this newspaper are business mines of opportunity. They tell you of values you might never know, if they were not there to guide you. . Do you read and digest this advertising? Figuratively speaking, some folks "eat it up." They are the wise shoppers the economical buyers the ones who are strictlyup to date on the opportunities for saving money or spending it most judiciously. Read the advertisements. Read them to know what's what in the shopping district. Read them to save steps to save money to save disappointments. "Prof. F. C. Bishop in Fanners' Bulletin No. 734, U. 6. Dept. Agr, baa quite a number of clever schemes, on of them being a balloon-shsped fly trap on the top of a garbage can cover. It would seem that if the cover were tight such a trap might not be necessary, but where a can is frequently opened there are bound to be flies shut in which will seek the light through a small hole in the can cover into this balloon trap. "Probably the best poison bait for house flies is formaldehyde in milk, used at the rate of about two teaspoonfuls of formaldehyde to a pint of a mixture 0 of equal parts of milk and water. This can be placed in an inverted bottle, allowing a few drops to exude into a saucer. A little brown sugar or molasses will make the bait more attractive. "Formaldehyde should not be inhaled, nor should the eyes be unduly exposed to it. Keep it out of the way Loathe chUdren." No Great American Sea Poet.
