The young rnfcn were appointed to shoot the firework! from th pier of the edification of their fimiliea and friend on the banks. In an endeavor to escape the backfire, of a aky-rocket. Nelson fellpff the .lock, dragging Hemstock with him. Kach was arrayed in white flannels. The Hammond men were rescued and decided to continue their tank in a boat. An entanglement with a varicolored "rtower pot" caused them to ;lu(re voluntarily into the cooling waters. They wound up the tvtu..., program by inadvertently setting fire to all the Roman candle- and ranry pieces at the some time. "This is the end." said Nelson wearily La he plunged from the wharf for the last time. Mel Monnett found Roaeoe's bsr. rll- floating near the shore. It had
evidently been washed from Rossy s pocket.

IT'S SIMPLY GRAND TO FEEL SO WELL Ft. Wayne Woman Was Never In Such Splendid Health As She Is Now. "It is just grand io feel like I do now; why. I believe I never had such splendid health in my life before." said Mrs. John MCoy. 1310 I'ark Ave., Fort Wayne, Ind.. in telling of her remarkable improvement by taking Tanlac. "For two or three years, I was in wretched health, due to an attack of the 'flu' that left me In a weak ind run-down condition from which I did not recover until I tpok Tanlac. My stomach was all out of order and even the- lightest kind of food would cause me hours of misery. 1 had awful headaches, and my temples would throb so I could hardly stand it and I was so nervous I seldom got a night's rest. "Tanlac certainly has made a big change in my condition. It has given me a splendid appetite-, and no matter what 1 eat now I never have the Flightiest distress aterwards. I sleep
all night long. too. and wake up In the morning bright and happy. A few weeks ago my daughter complained
of fooling nervous and run down, so I got her "to try Tanlac and It has
brought her round Just like it did me
It is hard to say now which one of
us is the most enthusiastic about Tan lac." Tanlac is sSld in Hammond by Sum mors Pharmacy . Adv.

Urgent coverings by shorts promoted a vigorous forward movement ott the stock market today after Initial weakness, the tone being on of pronounced strength, some issues-advancing as much as ten paints from the low levels of the first hour. The bears resumed their favorite tactics at the opening of selling the foreign oil shares but after some o fthese issues had sold down to new low records, the appearance of heavy buying; orders caused the shorts to run to cover. The advances were fully as violent In some issues as the decline had been during the past week. The oil shares and the railroad issues led to the advance.
