The West Hammond Maroons and the Columbiac A. C. baseball teams, both of West Hammond are all set for their two engagements, which are to be held at the W. H. ball parx, Sunday, and Monday. Both teams are confident o winning and as there can only be one winner, it will be up to the men who face each other in the two games to decide. However, the Columbia team is the first choioe as Mgr. Lietzan is banking on his right hander Romeo to check the Maroon nine, both days, this will be a difficult task to accomplish, as the Maroon nine have a twirler In Forter late of Logan Squares, who can fire them down plenty fast and with a good defense he will be invincible to eee. Junior Moose Steppin' High With Steger BY A. KRITIC. The best is riot too good for the
Junior Moose. To prove this let ua
cast a qulzlcal optic over the schedule sheet of the team. Game No. 1 was a classy local affair between the I. H. Nationals and
the Mooselets. Then glancing down
the list we see such names as Burnham. Chicaeo HeinhtH. Michigan Cttv.
Mooseheart, Aurora, DeKalb and For
rest Park, 111., gracing a clayed game or a game to be played. Some nifty schedule for a junior organization, hey? But ya ain't heard nothin' yet. Not satisfied with big fish the Junior boys have speared a whale. Next Sunday. July 3, the strong Steger, II., club hits the concrete for East Chicago to battle the lodge boys at Graver's diamond. And bul-liere me, Mabel, the
antelred hosshide tossers shall Tiave
to do some tall ateppin' to stop this team, 'cause they pack a wicked wallop, nine-manpower strong. Like Luke told Mirandy. "Sis. ef 1 should happen to miss a night without eeein yeh, I would have an empty feelin' in my stomach btgger'n a watermelon." Now. If any of you discriminating fans miss this bill you will have a hole in your anatomy that will make Lukes watermelon look like a pea. You simply cannot Afford to miss it And still be "up with the sports."

FORESTERS TO PLAY AT LAFAYETTE
Next Sunday, Hammond's crack, baseball team, the Forester travel to Lafayette and op-n a two game series with the Star Cily court of Forresters, the representative team of that city. Manager Zeller has been looking forward to this series t . r some time and he hopes to show the fans down there that Lake county has one of the fastest teams in tho state. In all probability, Hans A.inbos his pitching ace, will open the ser'o? Sunday as Zeller feels that if Hans trims Stir City Sunday, his boys will have the necessary added punch and confidence to repeat Monday. Moll and Terry ar in good shape and either one ia cfipable of pitching the brand of ball that wins. Moll is known to all the fans in this city and Terry, while not so well known, if in right shape and condition can beat any team in the state. The Forresters have been practising hard all week and If defeated in this seiifs will have no alibis to off nr. Thy have won Eeven and lost one. Tho boys say that
Ali.'n they get back Mcndoy everT;-.3 there will be two mors wins in t'i column. So with this epivit tlwy start out to upiiold Lake coun.tJ f reputation cf breeding the best at.iletes in the ttate.
