Families of at least fifty Gary Persians, who some months ago sent affidavits and other credentials to the American consul at Mesopotamia for their transportation to the ITnitcd States will soon be realy to make the long Journey to Join their relatives here, according to a letter received today by Prosecuting Attorney light M. Kinder today from the American consul service at Tabriz. Pers a. Arrangements are now being made by the Near East Relief at Hatradan for the transportation of the colony in which it is estimated that there will be in the neighborhood of 150 or 200. The affidsvits and credentials prepared by Mr. Kinder was mailed Feb. 3. but was considerably delayed, due to interruption of communication with Persia and the removal of tho American consulate at Tabriz to where the letter was mailed to Teheran. The letter received today, suggest:' that the Essyrian colony of Gary, of which there are a large number, who wish to communicate with friends or relatives, to address their communications to the Rev. Huso A. Fuller, treasurer of the Near East Relief at Hamadan. Persia, to avoid delay. The committee of Near East Relief in Persia is interested in the wipport and welfare of these people and consequently in constant touch with them. DES MONES MEN AS -WHISKEY RUNNERS INTERNATIONAL NEWS SERVICE MINNEAl'ONLIri. June 27. Three alleged confessed whiskey runners, residents of Pes Moines, la., who have been transporting liquor from Canada to Des Moines, were arrested here today with a touring car loaded, with whiskey valued at $7,500. The men gave their names as Gunnar Olson. Bernard Claus and Al N. Johnson. They were arrested by detectives on advices from Minot, N. D. The trio was armed with shot gruns 'and revolvers. The Des Moines men said they stole the automobile and the whiskey in Minot. N. P.. after they had been waylaid by high jacks last Friday when their own car. a Cadillac and a load of Whiskey worth $12,000 was stolen. The three men are being held In the city Jail without charge.
