Sporting Writers and Everybody Are In The Pink and Ready For The Tornado. NXTV YORK, June 27 Well boys, this is the blf Enuring the week there will be no more dirt pread aboul the big fight than Is beard in a divorce suit. Tou'll hear ail sorts of things that the Ice man at the Manhasset camp told the druggist. You'll hoar what Susie So-and-So heard Gui Wilson say over the phone to Who's-this. Tou'll hear that Jack Dempsey nu ben training all alonK with a sprained wrist and that Jack Kearns has bet million bucks on Carpentier. Boys, the soup this week" will be rich. There never was a big fight yet previous to which the dirt wan't spread the laat few days. The night before the fight at Reno, a mm very close to Johnson told the writer to bet on Jeff because Johnson only fighting for the short end. He said that Johnson's back was sprain ed by a fall down stairs and that the doctors had been treating him for two inys. O course It threw quite a shock into the boys standing around the Golden Hotel as did other stories, but there was nothing in them at all.

This will be a long week anyway It's going to be long f,.r the sport lin

ing public. They nave a whole week

In which to read about the fight. It's going to be long for Tex Kkkard. He has to worry about accidents, fires, tornadoes and the like.

It's going toBbe long for the flphters

too. If there should be a postpone

Harvey's last run came with two out in the ninth, when the side should have been retired. Fight fans who Journey to East Chicago tomorrow night to see the t--i round bout to be staged by the Twin Cities A. C -, between jot Lynch, bantamweight champion. and Challenger Joe Burman of Chicago, may see either fighter knocked out as early as the first round, according to Uddie Meade, manager of the cham

pion. "This is the most dangerous match in the bantamweight class," Meade said yesterday. "Lynf-h and Burman can hit with their right hands, and if either lands with a solid punch some

one is going to bump the canvas. In

addition. we respect Burman's leit hook and Lynch will not be taking any unnecessary chances. The champion is in as fine trim for this contest
