PREPARE FOR CAMP

Hrnmnl boy scouts will asrain have a cimp this summer. Arraignments nave ben made for the boys to go to Lake Eliea, Indiana, about thirty miles from Hammond, for a two weeks' vacation under conditions which will be

Herbert Langendorf, son of Rev. and Mrs. Peter Langendorf is home from St. John's Military Academy Where he has been attending school.

The Mlftses Grace and Lois Daugherty of 1S3 Truman avenue have gone on a visit to Clinton and Maquoketa, la. Miss Grace will spend six weeks and Lois will be gone about 10 days. The Dorcas Aid Society will not have a wieeting this week the next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Snow- of Van Buren street next week. Mies Marie Hart delightfully entertained the T. B. C. club at a beach party lat evening. The n(-.xt meeting will be held at the home of Miss Mildred Hathaway of 429 Logan street.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Swanton are leaving the latter part of this week for Herrfngton, N. J., where they will visit their son, William, who Ja working for Swift & Co. there. W-ynn Jones and his house guest Mr. Beach left this morning for Michigan where they have accepted positions for the summer. The B. T. V . club will have a beacn party at Lake Front park and !f it doe not rain all members are requested to meet at the four corners at 8 o'clock tonight.

The Golden Rod social club will

meet tomorrow afternoon with Mrs. Fred Cedergren of Maywood avenue. The W. C. T. U. silver medal contest was held last evening at the Brooks House with a large attendance in charge. The meeting waa opened with the community singing which is reported to have been excellent, Mrs. H. E. Granger led In prayer and Mr. and Mrs. News the singing evangelists gave several selections. Mrs. K. D. Licklider gave a talk explaining the W. C. T. U. medal contest work. There are a, number of medals which are awarded, tho silver, gold, grand gold, diamond and grand diamond, last evening there was a class of nine contestants. Miss Agnes MacGuire- who is soon going to another continent as a missionary presented the medal, tho Judges were Mrs. Helen McCartln, Mrs. Wm. Myers and Miss Agnes Magulre. The medal waa awarded to Ellrabeth Kuglis, whose subject was. "Since Papa Doesn't Prink." This was one of the beet contests yet witnessed not one of them forgetting their speeches, they were between the of 11 and 13. The Misses Dorothy and Gladys Graves have gone to Morocco, Ind., where they are visiting relatives for a few days.

The Ladies Auxiliary of trie American Legion will meet in room No. 3 of the court house for their regular business meeting tomorrow evening.

Dr. and Mrs. T. K. Bell are leaving today for their summer home at Lake Winnelag(. Wis. They will be gone until September.

Edgar Beckman ad sister Eleanor will leave tomorrow by motor for Iuluth, Minn. Kdgar will spend the sumer fn his brother's farm just out of ruluth.

The Irving school L. T. L. will meet tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at Morris park. The children will bring their luncheon and after the meeting they will have a picnic. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Ke-nner and family of Detroit, Mich., are visiting friends and relatives in Hammond.

William Vettner of Springfield. III., has been the gust of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. IX. Wilson, of thia city for the past two weeks.
