After hard workout last evening the Hammond K. of C's declared themselves fit for next Sunday's big (came "with the Gary Works which is to be I rlayed over at Gleason Park. Such big crowd of fans have exprcs'icd tlu'ir willingness to accompany the tram and urge them on to victory that Manager Heimbacli has engaged a crucial car on the Sibley st. Interurban for the occasion . The special will leave th5 corner of Sibley and Hohman about 1:45 p. m . and after picking up members of the K. of C. and their many friends who will meet at the K. of C. club rooms on Sibley st the car will go direct to the end of the line in Gary, which Is only a short walk from the ball park. The game, will be played at Columbia grounds, the new ball park of West Hammond. John (Hans) Amboa, the Forrester pitching ace, who retired In the ninth last Sunday duo to an Injury eays he Is In gioa shape again and ready to torn in another win. By beating the strong I. II. Nationals last Sunday he showed he has ths stuff and should have no trouble setting down the Wet Ends In onev two three order. The Forrester team Is well balanced and has class and deserve the support of the real baseball fans of this region. On July let the club trophy tournament will start over the "Whiting Traps and will last for the remainder of the season. This will be a tournament worthy of anybody's effort and for the number and value of trophys the finest the club has ever given. On Sunday, July Srd, Is registered tournament day at 'Whiting. This will be a shoot for shooters and the "Whiting Trapshooters Club is planning on making this a big shoot. All shooters should plan and leave these dates open for a grand and glorious time at the "Whiting traps.

A threat that there would be no Demp-sey-Carpentler fight In Jersey City on July 2 if the Ne-w Jersey boxing commission could not have the privilege of naming the referee was made last night by Commissioner Doherty at a dinner to Charles J. I-yons, another me-mber of the commission. Crimissioner Doherty said a serious situation had arisen, bs a "certain party" believed he should have the privilege of naing the refere. No names wore mentioned. At its meeting yesterday the commission did not take action the referee question.
