LINEUP NOW After a hard week of practice, the Maroon baseball team are all set for their encounter with tho Cherokee, which Is to be played at the West Hammond hall park Sunday. This week was the hardest workout the boys ever had held since the opening of the season an a hard grarne is expected from thu Indians, who are coming out with a stronjr team. Manager Shipreck was a busy bird all week, signing up new players, as sar-e have been let go and those who come out to see (he game Sunday will probably net recognize some of the faces in the liruuy. The team is stronger now than it was a few weeks ago and with Brown, Cob; and a few other nw men, the team should have very little trouble w inning Sunday . Manager Shipreck expects to start Porter on the mound, this h!g right hander has a world of stuff and an awful se tter, with a hot day tho opposing ftam has very little chance of beating him. And again Shipreek nv'ght start Cole, a southpaw, who twirled for the Fast Side Bed Socks, and now a member of the Maroon nine, this boy Is known around Chicago and according to dope can Mire pitch baseball. Krossley will do the receiving, regardless of who is assigned on the rubber, this boy is the best little catcher ever seen around the parks of Hammomnd. he has a wicked rm and knows how to work a pitcher, he also is dangerous with the hat. Going back to the game, it ought to he a thriller as Manager Novark of the visitors has hired two trucks to carry his rooters to Hammond . TWIN CITY LEADERSHIP IS DISPUTED Manager Hodor of the K. C. L' . baseball team has announced a scheduled game with the Arlsto Club of Indiana Harbor. Sunday, June 12. The peppy manager. better known as "Fat", has been out rehearsing wltli his nine for the last four days and limbering the team up for the Sunday's battle, which as he asserts win be the best argument his nine had to deal with this season. The main object of this schedule is to decide the misunderstanding between th two clubs, as to which is the better in tho Twin City baseball talent. There is quite a bit rivalry heween the two sections of the city and the only way the Harborites had in recent years accomplished their superiority over the Fast Chicago tads, was by defeating them in a game of ball. We expect however, that we cannot allow our rivals in baseball to give us another thrashing as we are out strong to accomplish this said superiority, for which we have been craving tor the past few years.
