Practically all the cars and their respective driver have arrived for the event and Gary la being used as headquarters for the sped demons, aviation utars and auto polo teams. Thn Ilobart track. Is on'.y seven miles from Gary and Is also easily reached from Gary and Valparaiso . John Hall, the dare-devil Who fliangfi from an auto t an aeroplane states that the change at Hobart will be the first time it has been made in the north and will also mark the Initial appearance of this feature on a three-quarter mile track. The Hobart Speedway is unique In construction and practically every one of the rare drivers fays that it will be their first trial n a six furlong course. ATHLETES GO THROUGH LAKE COUNTY Fifty Indianapolis and fifty Chicago athletes will carry a message from Mayor Charles V. Jewett to the thirty-second National Gymnastic Union Athletic tournament at Chicago, today. Arrangements Tor the relay runners have been completed, and the first will leave th Soldiers and Sailors' Monument today at 6 a. m. The Indianapolis relay runners will Include thirty from th Athenaeum and twenty from the South Side Turners. They will carry the message two miles each, to AValcott, where the first Chicago relay runner will take it, and he and this comrade will complete the Journey to Grant park, where the message will be delivered to Mayor William Hale Thompson, of Chlca. The route will run through: Lebanon, Frankfort, Mulberry, Iayton. Lafayette. Montmorenci, and thence to Walcott. The last Chicago runner, accordlag to plans, will deliver the message to the Chicago mayor Saturday afternoon. The message will be In reply to an Invitation from Mayor Thompson M attand the tournament of the N'. Af O. IT. National headquarters of ths organization are in Indianapolis. The tournament will be held at the municipal pier, Chicago, June 29 to July 4.

The Hammond K. of C.'s put in a good night's work-nit last evening in pi -parnl ion for their t;ame at Blue Island next Sunday. More than an hour's time was soent in a good stiff batting practice und th balance of the evening was devoted to fielding.
