Jack Derr.psf y is going to carry more poundage into the ring against Georges Carpentier July 2 than he has evtr carried into a fisht before. Since he won the title from Jess Willard at Toledo the lad from Salt Lake has reached his full growth. He has broadened out. When he crawls through the ropes with Carpentler he will weigh between 19ii and 195 pounds, I am told and this will be nearly ten pounds more than he took Into the ring at Toledo when his weight was announced as 187. With this much poundage on his frame tho champion will have an advantage of between 15 and 30 po)ids over Georges Carpentler. whose natural weight hangs close around 170. Carpentler was weighed in ffrTVate several days ago by Manager Descamps and afterwards at his Manhasset training camp, it was ennouneed that he tipped the beam at 172. When ho first landed he weighed 175 pound, so he has not lost much weight through his exertions in training to date and when he enters the ring with Dempsry he probably will weigh about the same.
