Mrs. Ida Glllmurray, who has been in the west, is visiting at the home of her
son, Frank A. Glllmurray, who though employed at Whiting resides in Hammond. Mrs. Glllmurray will also visit
friends here.
The news of the -wedding of Miss Josephine E. McDermott. daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Mcpermott of
Sheridan avenue and George I. Loluiels
of Chicago, kept a secret until now
comes as a great surprise to the many
friends of the young couple. The wedding took place in Chicago on January
22. 1931, being performed by Rev,
Father O'Brien at St. Thomas Catholic church, the attendants being Mr;)
bchaller, sister of the groom and Mr.
Edward Pool. The bride Is a graduate
of the Whiting high school and has
been employed as a stenographer at
the Standard Oil company for several years. Mr. Lohnula la employed iy the Lloyd Thomas company in Chicago
and tomorrow they will take up their residence on the north side in Chicago
their place at 1121 Kenmore avenue being ready for occupancy.

The Aldrlch's were formerly Robertsdale people and will be remembered by many of the older settlers. Mr. and Mrs. M. Ferguson of Indiana Harbor. visited Robertsdale friends the other evening. Mrs. Turley and son. Earnest of Lincoln avenue, are spending a few days
at Tatea City, 111., visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. E. Langohr and family and their nephew, Milton Marts, spent a few days on a motor trip to Laporte, South Bend and St. Joe. George Walters, who rooms on Roberts avenue, left (for Chacon. Ia., where he was called by the illness of a relative. William Smith of Stanton avenue and Marcus Kallberg of Myrtle avenue are recent purchasers of lots in the Sheffield addition. Edward Bader of East Side, visited his mother, Mrs. George Bader of
Myrtle avenue. The foundations for several new homes are being laid in the Foraythe Water Gardens. Many improvements are helng made by property owners on Myrtle avenue by building and painting of their homesMrs. Roy Moore is getting along nicely from her recent illness.

Father Miller united Miss Clara Sell cf Indiasapolls boulevard and Owen McNVely of Whiting in marriage. The bride was' attired in a gown of white georgette crepe and carried a shower boquet of rosea and -llllies of the valley. Miss Agnes .Sell sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Miss Clara Korczyk brides maid, both girls wore white taffeta dresses and carried beautiful boquets of plonies. Vincent cell, the brides brother acted as usher. A wedding breakfast was served, also a 6 o'clc-ck course dinner at the Sell home. The tables were .beautifully; dtcciated with ferns and lilies of the valley. After the dinner the bridal party left for Chicago, where they saw "Smooth as Silk," at the court theater. Mr. and Mrs. McNeely are two of our most popular young people, the bride having been employed at our local telephone office and the groom at the Standard Oil company. They will go to house keeping on Lake avenue tn the Shads home which is all in readiness for them, congratulations and best wishes are extended to tho happy couple by their many friends. Mrs. O. E. Meek and daughter, Thelma of Indianapolis boulevard, are spending the week end with the Ault family at Momence, 111.
