C Huher, eainpaipn in;r,gn for Johnson, made the request to the Gary election board yesterday. He charges that there w ''ro f'"" ba;K"ts cast in the precinct, hut according to the returns filed with the electi-n commissioners by the list precinct Judges and clerks, there were only 3T vote., cast, of which Hamilton received 199 and Johnson 161. According to the police report there neie 390 votes polled In the 21st precinct by one o'clock Tuesday afternoon. "The missing ballots could rot and did not affect the election or d- fe;it of any candidate, but we demand an investigation in the name of the public." said Attorney Huber. "The Judges: and clerks, and also the inspector in the 21st precinct v ere all ramed by the Hamilton forces and a'-l ct them are colored men. The conduct of the polls in that precinct is said to have beer. dominated by Joseph Rapier, the colored attorney," Mr. Huber said. 11. H.
