Hi

,: '

Albert Lewis VOTERS OF EAST CHICAGO: IN A FIT OF ANGER, J. Kalman Rcppa has )usl told me that he is not a TAX DODGER, and that HE MAKES O IHER PEOPLE PAY their TAXES. HE SAYS HE IS the only man in East Chicago who had NERVE ENOUGH to COMPEL the APPEAL of 23 INDUSTRIES cf EAST CHICAGO to the STATE TAX BOARD to have their ASSESSMENTS RAISED. BUT VCTIIIX HE WAS DOiNG THAT he was BUSY setting tl--. valuations of his OWN ELEVEN PRoPERTu cut in half. I said HIS OWN eleven properties were CUT IN HALF. Mr. Rcppa says that statement is not true. He says he owned only two buildings. I asked him how he came to have NINE OTHERS in his name at the tunc REAL ESTATE was assessed if they were not his. and his ANSWER is: THEY ARE PROPERTIES THAT WERE DEEDED TO ME AS SECURITY FOR LOANS I NUDE TO THE OWNERS. DO YOU GET THAT? It is a matter of recent knowledge that J. Kalman Reppa has been making enormous profits on second mortgages but, on HIS OWN WORD. HE IS NOT SATISFIED with that he gets the title in his own name. NOT EVEN A PAWNBROKER demands TITLE to your property before he will LEND YOU MONEY.
