r VOICE OF Ea. THE rP EO PLE WOMEN BEGIN FIGHT' FOR OLD TIME AGAIN Fd'tor Tlrr,.i A hat change of minds. During the war we heard much talk of what oirie-n were doing. Now. when the women of Hammond put one law over the whole region rlsej up and calls the turn ignorant, old fashioned, apron strings, etc. I am afraid the men are due to a good many Jolts, as women are going to put many reforms through. You. store clerk, have plenty of time for your beauty sleep. If you had to arie every morning for six montiis at 4:45. I think you would change your mind. That gives less than a!x hours sleep as things do not "become quiet before 11 or 11:30 o'clock. Some made light of a jmall matter of an hour's sieep. The world is made up of small things and one of the smallest is this day light saving law. Will iotm one give two good reasons for It. Do not say anything about gardens cur autoo for we do not hap- i pen to have any and attend few movies. It certainly works a hardship In tho j homo of the working man and es- : pecially where there are children bs- j tween the ages of five and fifteen. We are constantly reminded cf keep-j ing our children off the streets, which1 is our duty. Why not let them sleepthat extra hour and by so doing help the parents. How many have had sue- I cess through the warm season in getting healthy active boyj to retire when ' th sun is still shining bright. ' We are going to have tho nuisance j again. j Let the women of Hammond be' gratoful to the city officials for try-j ing to have the good old time and j next spring if the women of our sifter j cities are still asleep, we will awaken ; them nnd get this rglon started back j to c!i!izcd time. .
