"George" never does what you expect him to do. He always "falls down." He is "never home" never "on the job." t Experience has proved THAT. r So, if you have a duty to perform or a job to do don't say: "Let George do itr And you HAVE got at least ONE job to do a job that you ought not to put up to "George."
There's just ONE sure way of get
ting ANYTHING done. And that is to uo it YOURSELF.

We Want THIS Letf s assume for a minute that we all agree that if EVERY ONE were buying, wisely and prudently, the things he needs and wants, EVERYBODY would be doing business EVERYBODY would be prosperous each of us would be selling, at a good, fair profit, the time, experience, skill or materials that the busy retailer, jobber of manufacturer MUST have. Very well! General buying will bring about this happy condition. We all WANT it But who is going to START it?
Worst of All We KNOW this, and yet in spite of it, some of us may say: "Well, I'll wait ju3t a little bit and . see how things come out. The other folks will begin buying, and if it works out well, I'll start in, too. It won't hurt much wrhat little hold back." But, it WILL hurt. It's the one thing that will hurt most of ALL. And the serious thing about it is that you actually believe that it WON'T hurt
Why Take Chances? If you want everybody to buy believing that it will make you prosperous then any action that re
stricts, buying is hazardous and .longerons to YOUR welfare. If you admit that the THEORY of NOT BUYING is dangerous, why take chances with it? You wouldn't go poking around a pile of excelsior in your basement with a lighted match! Why not? Because in THEORY, it is DANGEROUS. And you don't take the chance. The risk of destroying your HOME is too great! 100,000,000 of YOU ' If the THEORY of NOT BUYING is hazardous and dangerous, don't practice it. What you do, others do. Your neighbor and your neighbor's neighbor are just LIKE YOU. What you are doing, they are doing. ........
If you are playing safe., and BUYING, you'll find them responding in the same way sanely and intelligently. But, if you're experimenting' with a burning match, figure that they are doing about the fame thing. Don't depend upon the other fellow to be vise enough and courageous enough to run the world right and safeguard your interests. Supply your ozvn part of the necessary wisdom and courage and you'll find him doing. likewise.
George" Tempts Us
It is a very human temptation to Bay to yourself or for me to say to MYSELF "Let George do it" or "Let George start it" And the minute we do that we're in danger. We want BUYING started we leave it to "George" and we know "George" never makes good. We have "passed the buck" trusting to our neighbor and our neighbor's neighbor trusting to everybody else to do the thing we WANT done,

Ridiculous ? It seems more or less ridiculous even to think of any one taking chances with a burning match and a pile of excelsior. And yet it HAS been done. And it seems, also, unnecessary to nigerest that each and every one of us begin BUYING, if BUYING is the answer, afizv all. to our individual prosperity and welfare.

Bevare of "George
But, there's always "George" lurking around ready to ACCEPT any job. At least we THINK he is. Perhaps if we'd ask him, he'd tell us to DO it onrseh'cs. But don't FORGET George doesn't make good once in a million times. Probably because all of his jobs are WISHED on him. Nobody ASKS him if he will DELIVER. But he can't do EVERYBODY'S work ANYWAY. So, why ask him to do the IMPOSSIBLE. The duty is up to EACH of us to YOU and to ME. If we BUY from OTHERS THEY will buy ircm US.
