18-YEAR-OLD BOY CONFESSES MURDER Virgil Decker Says He Killed Leroy Lovett at Atwood Last Saturday

Followinghis arrest in Marion, Ind., where he fled after the slaying. Pecker told Mrs. Charles R. Moon, wife of the county sheriff, that "the devil made him do it." This is the only explanation that Decker gives for the crime. His sisnd confession relate that Lovett and himself were sleeping in the cabin on the Tippecanoe river near Atwood, that he awoke first and struck Lovett over the head with an iron bar.
