Your answer is: "No, of course, I'm NOT throwing a boomerang!" But, maybe you are, after all. ' Maybe you didn't KNOW it WAS a boomerang. And, perhaps, you're just beginning to find out Lots of us ARE for the country has been full of boomerang throwers whether we knew it, or not! A boomerang returns to injure the THROWER and that's what is happening to US.

A Dangerous Weapon , If YOU or I have stopped BUYING, with the idea of forcing prices DOWN, we have been throwing a boomerang. A boomerang is a weapon, much" used in Australia, which, when thrown into the air, returns after circling around, to the thrower. And if the thrower doesn't watch out, he gets hurt ltt That is the kind of a weapon we have been using when we STOPPED BUYING. It is a dangerous weapon. A fling or two, if w e were careful to dodge, probably brought a wholesome influence in the way of LOWER prices. But long ago we passed the point when we should have quit throwing boomerangs.

just low enough to bring relief WITHOUT dragging wages down to

the BOTTOM.

A moderate shower of boomerangs was enough for this. But if we keep right on throwing them, we're going to have LOW prices and low wTages, with them.

Can't Dodge Forever WTien you and I, as wage earners, compel and force the manufacturer to sell to us at a lower cost, he, in turn, must sell at a lower cost to the jobber and dealer. Their costs must come down, TOO. A large part of the costs with the manufacturer, jobber and dealer is LABOR.

If all costs must come DOWN, so must the cost of LABOR. How far do we want ALL costs including LABOR to come down? Think of THAT, when you decide NOT to buy. A boomerang always returns and if the air stays full of them it is impossible to dodge them all impossible NOT to be injured. Some of us have felt, perhaps, that the retailer needed a lesson needed , to be reprimanded or the manufacturer or the jobber. And we stopped buying, perhaps, in order to give him his lesson. But let's be careful to see the difference between a reprimand and CAPITAL PUNISHMENT for What happens to the manufacturer, jobber and retailer, must eventually happen to each of us.

Enough is Enough Low prices mean low costs. ' Low costs mean low wages. What we wanted to do was to bring LOWER not LOW prices prices enough lower to be REASONABLE

ing IMPULSE that sweeps around the Circle. He, like you, buys the necessities and comforts of life from a retaller who buys from a Jobber who buys from a manufacturer ALL OF WHOM must buy from the Public (yoo) the time, skill, knowledge, materials, etc.. that the Public has to SELL. When YOU buy, ALL buy when TOU stop, ALL Btop!

If we don't want to hurt OURSELVES too much, let's be a bit cautious about what we do to the manufacturer, jobber and retailer.

See What's Happened So, if you have been fitting" at the manufacturer, jobber or dealer, purposely or not. let's get the air clear quit throwing for a minute and see if the battle isn't ALREADY WON! Prices are lowerAre they down far enough to be reasonable? The manufacturer, jobber and retailer believe they aie. They have pushed them down as far as they can at this time, and still be able to go ahead doing business. Bo we want them to go ahead doing business paying wages and salaries, buying materials and power and transportation? Where do YOU get the money YOU earn? Does it come from any of THESE sources? Figure it out and then, if prices seeem MORE reasonable, ask yourself if it isn't a mighty good time to begin buying again in the good old American way.

You Buy They Buy YOU have SOMETHING to SELti time, skill, experience, materials, etc You can force and compel others to buv these things from you if, first, YOU buy of THEM. And if YOU don't buy, THEY CAN'T. If YOU buy, they 'MUST!
