Joseph Hrejack is recovering at his iiome in Indiana Harbor boulevard, he having sustained to injured toes while at work for the Sinclair Oil Refining company. John Z 3tnrphy of LaPorta avenue was the uest of Miss Haiel Hartley at the Elks dinner dance at East Chicago on Tuesday night. The Owls will entertain their members and friends at a 600 card party this evening.

A number of "Whiting people are Planning to attend a 15aeh B. Minor mass concert to be given by the Apollo Musical club at the Orchestra hall in Chicago on next Monday evening. The card party given Tuesday evening by members of the Odd Fellows lodge was a grand success. The prle winners were: First ladles, Dr. Clara Faulkner; second ladles, Mrs. Tyler; third ladie.s. Alwin Wild Is quite seriously HI at his home. Raymond, the 6-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Shoemaker, who died Monday was brought here last evening to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Foreman. Funeral services were held today at 1 o'clock at the Foreman home and at 1:30 at the Ev. Lutheran church. The interment was at Crown Hill cemetery. A large crowd Is expected to attend the boxljpg boutj held here Friday evening under the auspices of the American Legion. Jack Kennedy, well known In northern Indiana, will fight Danny Goodman of Gary. Another attraction will be that between Wall and 'Brooks, both are from Hobart and will be their first attempt in the ring. Johnny Viaena of East Gary and Toung Andy of Gary will give a six-round btnit. A special car will be run from Gary to accommodate the crowd that expects to attend from here.
