for a meal at Hotel Commodore in New York. The meal consisted of beef stew, bread and cocoa. The proceeds of the dinner have been sent to Europe to aid Amer

She also depicted 400 recent cases where soldiers, maimed and otherwise unfit for civilian duties, were taken care of by the Kast Chicago Red Cross chapter, since Mrs. Carman has been in office. A good many of these men were from other cities, who had drifted to Fast Chicago in their vain attempts to secure work. Compensation, allotments and insurance problems of returned soldiers were also discussed by Mrs. Carman. Accordirg to reports submitted by

The Kobertsdale Evangelical church had it annual election last Sunday morning, the resj'.t Is at follows: Trustees, A. if. Marts and Edward Freeae, both men were re-eleeted for a term of thres years; George i. Goldlng is superintendent of the Sunday school: and Mrs. A. M. Marts, the assistant; secretary, Miss Fisi Larson; treasurer, Mrs. Binhammer: pianist. Miss Edna Oehrke and Mlas Zerwer; librarian, Miss Elnore Plan. The Sunday school was reorganised and several new classes created. Also a new, system of lessons was adopted with these changes of lessons created, also a new syatem of lessons was adopted, with these changes the school will be in a position to meet the growing interest of the work. A change of time was alao adopted so that from now on the Sunday school
