Partlne I.nnd has returned to Purdue university where he is taking an electrical engineering course. Herman Yarns has returned to the T'nlverslty of Indiana after spending the holidays as the guest of hi parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Yarns, The Women's Republican Club held the first meetrng of the year and the first of the org-aniziition at the homo of Mrs. W. J. Panner of 4 Od.-n St. The home was beautiful in artistic decoration of the season, during the social hour refreshments were served and several classic selections played on the victrola. The business of the club was transacted, plans 'for a biT jubilee were formulated, a committee, was appointed and papers were read on political question! and these questions discussed, Mrs. YV. II. Myers road a very up to the minute and interesting article on "Our part in politics." There was a large attendance and the meeting was voted as particularly successful one, the next meeting will take place in two weeks at the home of Mrs. W. B. Newman, 121 Park Tiace. Coming to Hammond tomorrow to be the week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Sasse of 92S Hohman street is Mrs. A. H, Chave of Montreal, Canada, Mrs. Chave will be remembered in Hammond as P.ose Merry weather. Tim Basses have had a number of guests during the holidays. Stinsons and daughter Violet of 94 Detroit street yesterday. Mr. Carver is on his way to Cornell University after spending the holidays with his family in Fort Worth. The post leap year dance at the Country Club, is being arranged for with great enthusiasm. A committee of women has been appointed.
