This however. Is entirely wTong. the purpose of the ordinance only prohibits the sale of the firearms without a permit. This ordinance of course would mean that a person would have to have unquestionable enaracter Defore the department of public safety, would Issue a permit. Then again It would mean that the criminal class would be unable to purchase revolvers as Is now th case, which would eliminate a large number of murders and robberies which have prevailed In the past. It Is a known fact that a lot of revolvers, blacojacks. stilettos and other weapons on exhibition In any window have a certain tendency In attracting those criminally Inclined. This attraction once entering Into a crook's mind, no matter of mare price could prevent the criminal from purchasing. The ordinance as drawn by City Attorney Crltes stipulates that any one exhibiting a revolver, blackjack or any other weapon of this kind, shall be punished by a fine of not less than JoO. It further says that any merchant who sells a revolver or any other

death dealing weapon without a permit from the Department of Public Safety, will also be subject to a fine of not less than $50. The ordinance has now gone to third reading, and will come up before the next meeting of the council the first Monday in January.
