Dear Dan: You have always been one of the prime movers in anything that's for the common good and from your letter I guess you're keeping the old reputation all polishing 'n everything. I understand you do all you can for the Boy Scouts, and are helping to boost for the Hammond athletic field. .You're right, hop to it. What is especially pleasing to me right now, though, is your recommendation to me of where to get my automobiles and musical instruments that I'm going to give away, this year. Dan, you know you show real judgment whea you tell me to see W. F. Stromberger about a Jackson Six or a Case automobile. That Jackson is sure there, in workmanship, wear and looks, too well, just notice Doc Sharrer when he goes by sometime he drives one. The Case is simplicity itself, very gracefulliest lines and is surely full o pep. I expect to leave several of both kinds of cars in Hammond Xmas Eve. Speaking of Musical Instruments, I should say the Straube Piano Co. do carry a great line. That's where I selected my Melo Harps, and the genuine Edison and Victrola talking machines. Then they have all the latest music rolls and records. Say Dan, here's something confidential. Thert's a letter on my desk from the secretary of the Local Order of International Gossipers instructing me to deliver a Golden Ear Drum to the president of the federated Gossipers Societies of Lake County. The letter states that the local president has heard so much gossip, she's losing her hearing. I want you to deliver this Golden Drum, personally for me.
