Say They Had No Time to Organize For Independent Action

Dec. 2 In a final analysis of the woman vote in the recent' election the national woman's party reaches the conclusion that "Women apparently voted for the same reasons and were swayed by the same issues as men." According to the analysis, which t to bo published in the forthcoming issue of the Suffragist, infonnat ion gathered in the crucial states, shows that women cast from one-tnra o one-half of the total vote. "In local matters." says the analysis, "women supported increased expenditures for schools for humane purposes, but did not generally initiate any reforms. "Women candidates were few and almost invariably unsuccessful, with the exception of a few women elected to state legislatures or minor county offices." When it was pointed out to Alice Paul today that the conclusions reached are similar to those published by the National Association Opposed to Woman Suffrage, she said: "We contend that the election did not reflect the attitude of the women on the Issues In the campaign since thy had no voice in making them and had no time to organize for independent action.
