G. CHEVROLET DIES III AUTO RACE CRASH Eddie O'Donnell Dying, Helper Dead, at Los Angeles SPEEDWAY, LCS ANGELES, Nov. 26. CBston Chevrolet, famous reclnsr driver, and I.yall Jolls, mechanician for Eidie O'Donnell. were Killed yesterday when Chevrolet's and O'Donnell'o machines crashed together on the Los Angeles Speedway at the east end of the grand stand near th close of a 250-mSle rac. Chevrolet's standing- in the race at the time he was kill had won for him the national automobile racing championship for 1?20 on a roir.t basis. O'Dor.r.oll was so seriously injured that it was at first reported he was killed. Ilia Ekull was fractured and both arms broken, and little hope wa.i held that he could recover. John Bresnahan, Chevrolet's mechanician, was seriously Injured. O'Donnell's car struck the fenca on the east turn and bounded down the Incline, colliding with a car driven by Oaston Chevrolet.
JACK JOHNSON LANDS KNOCKOUT

Jack Johnson, former heavyweight champion of the world .knocked out Frank Owens of Chicago In the last round of a nix-round bout anl then boxed "Topeka Jack" Johnson another five rounds at the federal prison here yesterday afternoon. Kegulatlon flshting gloves were used and the rounds were of three minutes each. Left Hook End Boot. In his bout with Owen, a 240-pound Negro, Johnson knocked his opponent down twelvo times before he finally sent him to the canvas with a terrific hook to the ajw in the last round. Before Johnson entered tho ring- he exhibited a bad abraison on his right hand and it was noticeable that he seldom used that member for his hard punches. H thus explained to newspaper men after the fight his inability to finish Owens sooner. Johnson appeared to be in good condition, and" it was the uplnlou of ringside critics tliat the former champion Is still a formidable fighting man.
