MONARCHIST FACTION IN BAVARIA PLANS TO FREE STATE FROM GERMAN CONTROL

BIckenM area of map indiefctes Bavaria. Arrow points to Ruhr valley district. Below is r.cent photo of Dr. Escherich. Bavarian monarchists, led by Dr. Escherich and General LuriendorfT, with headquarters at Munich, vrt-ere the? have 100,000 well equipped troops,-are awaiting: a propitious moment to launch a coup d'etat. If France, whose note to Etcherich dema-idinj? disarmament cf his forces was ijrnored, fulfills her threat to occupy the Ruhr valley coal fields it is believed a general strike will be called by communists. Under pretext of combating the communists, it is forecast, Fscherich's troops may take the field and execute their plans. Declaring their independence from Germany is the first step contemplated. A treaty with France guaranteeing protection from Germany is to be made, it is said. The Bavarian monarchists expect eventually to restore Rupprecht to the throne, but their plan first contemplates institution of a regency with Ludendorff as a possible candidate or regent. Monarchists agitation also is experienced in IJcsse, Wurtemrived therefrom and assessed against said respective lot on said assessment roll, and that said Board will after said hearing and examination, confirm or modify each respective-assessment as made provided that it finds that said property affected thereby la benefitted ia said respective amounts.
