A linen shower to honor the comingnuptial of Miss Harparet IMckson to Mr. Harry Davis, two well known young peo. pie of Indiana Harbor, was held at the noma of Mrs. Jack Johnstone In Grapevine at., with the sruants comprising the members of the Kappa Kappa Sorority. The affair was delightfully appointed and a most attractive future waa a ratnature bride's cake borne to the dining- table by the two wee nioes of the hostess. Evelyn and GeraJdJne Shelley and presented to the bride-elect. The decoration were carried out In pink and white , and skillfully blended into artistic forms. Chicago Woman's Club will meet tomorrow afternoon with Mrs. E. P. Robinson

the Poet" by Mrs. Browning. The de

partment holds its regular meetings the

first three Tuesday afternoons of each

month and at any time there is occaa

ion to postpone a meeting it takes plaoa

on the fourth Tuesday which it so hap

pen this month. The postponed meet

tng occurred on the date of election and

a sufficient reason for the deferrment of same with an urgent invitation for

all members to be rresent tomorrow.

The music department of the Cast Chicago Woman's Club will hold an

interesting meeting this evening at the

home of Mn. Lester Ottenheinier, of

S15 USth street. The study "Rigole

to" Is announced for this meeting. All

members are urged to attend.

Tonight, there is a meeting at the McKtnley School of chairmen of all the committees appointed on the alumni

dance to be given on Nov. 36th. It is urgently desired that they make report of progress. Miss Annette Spectre is presiding in the absence of Mr. Laurel Lurdauiat who is presently at Ann Arbcr, Mich, on a visit to his mother. ilr- and Mrs. Victor Badeaux of 4101 Northeotte Ar. have a little son twelve days old whom they are legally adopting. The lad already bears the name of Victor Joseph, named for Mr. Badeaux. The couple have longed to take a child for some time and now have their hopes realised. It la probable that they will take little girl some time In the future and rear her as a companion to the boy they have now. The babe shows every evldsnca of thriving. - Prof. Colby of the Vn!vrsity of Chicago will be the honored guert at a meeting of the Civic Club, Indiana Harbor, Wednesday evening. Prof. Colby will give an illustrated lecture of great interest to all In the community. A social afternoon will be spent by the warren allied with St. Alban's Guild at Indiana Harbor tomorrow at the home of Ira. A. M. Little, ms 125th street. A most cordial invitation Is extended all to be present. The. L T. Girls will meet this evening instead of tomorrow evening their regular meeting night with Miss Helen Betonte at 4415 Northcote avenue. The change has been made to permit of the members indulging In gymnasium work which will be directed at the McKInley school tomorrow evening. It is very much desired that the change is noted by members and that they be present this evening at the meeting and tomorrow evening at the school auditorium. "Walter Lopatka cf the Calumet building- Is in Michigan for a few weeks on a business trip.

Soak one-half envelope of gelatine in one-half cap of cold milk and dissolve by allowing to stand in a pan of hot water. Add two and one-half evps of milk. BAKED RHUBARB Pink Rhobarb Sugar Buttered Bread ermabs Cinnamon Cut the rhubarb in about cne-inch lengths. Put a layer of buttered bread-crumbs in the bottom of a baking dish: on top of this place a layer of rhubarb. Sprinkle with cinnamon and a little sugar. Repeat, and cover the top with buttered crumbs. Bake in the oven about 20 minutes.

MEAT LOAF Soak some gelatine in one-half cup of cold water. Take two cups of

FRUIT COOKIES Mix and sift one cup of ftour, one and one-half teaspoons of baking powder, one-fourth teaspoon of salt, one-half teaspoon cinnamon and onefourth teaspoon of cloves and allspke. -Then add ,one-half cup each of chopped raisins and walnuts. Cream about five tablespoons of fat, add about two-thjfds of sugar, wie beatem egg and - one cup of rolled oats, which hove been put through the chopper. Add the sifted dry ingredients and two tablespoons of milk alternately. Drop from a teaspoon into a greased pan and bake in a moderate oven. '
