' TIGER CALLS FOR BLOOD
-1,000 Im on Hand to see Greatest Football Game of the Year. ET JACK VEIOCK fSTA-F CORRESPONDENT I. N. -SERVICE 1 HOSTON. Nov. -6 A ravenous Princeton Tiger with a longing for nutriment v as unleashed "hero today.' " " ' Harvard's huge stadium was his hunting ground, and he slilkcd his prey a crimson clad giant in hungry desTeraUcc. It is long since he has been fed. Aa the hour of the Harvard-Princeton Kame approached it was recalled that Trincton has not defeated Harvard in fine years. It was In 1911 that Sam "White picked up a fumbled ball and raced over Harvard's goal for a touchdown, dragging the crimson In the dust lehind him. Small wonder the Tiger is hungry. . . Princeton and Harvard have played 12 games. The Tigers have won ' ten against eight Harvard victories and two tie. games. But nine years Is a long stretch. The Tiger craves a change of cViet and he went out to get It today. More than 46.000 excited and expectnnt football fans were on hand for the first battle- of" the season between mem ters of the "big three." It. was a happy, spirited and colorful crowd and all signs In advance of the game Indicated that it would witness one of the greatest football struggles of the season. Weather conditions were ideal. Harard"s stalwarts' were favored' in the tetting. The makers cf odds evidently believed Harvard to be one perhaps two touch downs better than the Tigers. ' At least betting here today" indicated' as much with edds as good as 8 to 6. - The wiseacres from tTie lsir of the T;gers believe In his versatility. Ha ing compared Frlnceton with Harvard on paper many of them have come to the conclusion that with such players as Don Lourie. Scheerer. Gilroy and the astounding Garrity In -her backfleld. Princeton stands a better chance to take advantage of whatever opportunity offers than does the slower and more methodical Harvard quartet' of backs. K-seovcrlng fumbles for touch downs pud making sensational runs in short, doing tho unexpected la a Princeton tradition. Some of these' things could happen today. .s compared to the Crimson, the t"a.in of Princeton stacSs up very favorably, though it must be admitted that while Harvard has revealed no one player who has dominated the work of the 'earn, the big Crimson machine has gone along with the smooth working precision of a steam roHer-and has shown ihe same tort of crushing power. Harvard's line is stronger tban that of .the Tigers and her back field more rugged on straight offensive playing. Princeton's playing In comparison', has been more or less spasmodic. On defense both teams have shown strongly with Harvard holding a slight advantage, if there has been one either way and because Princeton has not ehown an attack strong enough to gain ground consistently it appeared that the Crimson held the balance of power. Princeton's attack, most probably, will be directed at the Harvard ends. Coach Fisher's eleven is admittedly weak, on FAMOUS FANS HvXK urt SUNDAY,
