"Hole! the Fort

For I Am Coming! That seemed to be the voice of the great throng of shoppers vho stormed the Lewin Department Store yestrday and today, in an eagerscramble for the greatest harvest of bargains any season evr brought. The public evidently has been waiting for this very event. People have deprived themselves of the things they actually needed; they have been practicing a sort of false economy; the re-action from the former days of spending has carried them to another extreme ' This great price-cutting sale brought the public to its senses. One oi the most popular hits of this sale is the offering of our magnificent line of Society Brand Suits and Ov ercoats at But there are countless other values just as good, and we urge you to attend this sale tomorrow by all means, no matter where you live. There will be some real surprises for the men, women and children.

You cannot spoil your ballot oa a voting machine. If you don't understand the machine ask the clerk, it is his duty and he will be glad to show you how to vote the way you want to.

It is the duty of the Prosecuting Attorney to see that laws are enforced, and to impeach public officials who fail to enforce them. That is what I propose to do. You have been told or will be, that certain candidates will do better, if elected, than you expect on account of the moral pressure that will be used on them. "Watch" your step!" A man that needs any pressure to do what is right should not be placed in a position of public trust. That is particularly true in Lake County, where the pressure to do wrong is being applied by the "Vice Ring" twenty-four hours a day and three hundred sixty-five days a year.

You cannot clean the mess in this County with ideas forced on you by someone else or with borrowed ideas. It can be done, only when the person charged; with that duty has a clear, well defined, ingrown idea, that it should be done as a matter of right; and principle, and is willing to make sacrifices to do it. Prior to this eventful year, women were not given proper consideration because they could not vote, don't forget that my good women. Young boys and girls and little children cannot vote, but they are entitled to the protection that the law affords them and should be given the opportunity to become law-abiding, God-fearing men and women.; That opportunity is not given them in a community dominated by a "Vice Ring" as this community is. Are you going to forget them, my good women? Fathers and mothers, think of your children, consult your conscience,, and then vote. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.
