E. CHICAGO AND FROEBEL CLASH AT STEEL CIT!

An eay win with a ecore of 68 to 0

a rJ a. hard fought loss wtth a score of 41 to 6 was the way Froebel htgn' chool of Gary, and East Chicago hign fchool fared last Saturday but com-' paratlve scores mean nothing- partlcu-j liirly when there is no common opponit. In soite of the wide difference t lat week's scores East Chicago high school Is groins to Gary tomorrow with the conviction that they will be able to beat the steel city crowd. ! Froebel Is admitted to have a strong; team this year as their 66 to 0 victory, over Valparaiso high school would Indlcate but Coach Lawrence of East Chicago before entering tomorrow's game was of the opinion that East Chicago could have done the same thing to Valpo. This will be East Chicago 'a first 6"arn with a contender for county honors and the team Is coached to do their best. i Last Saturday game with DeFaul at! least did one good thing for East CM-I cag-o. It robbed the players of any) over-confidence they may have had and at the same time showed them la whaw, respects their team work was poor. Froebel did not really have enough op- : position to develop any weaknesses of the Gary team. In the estimation of Coach Lawrence the game should be n.

close one with the probability of a single touchdown margin either way.

WABASH READY

iBASH RE

FOR STIFF GO WITH CHICAGO

CRAWFORDSVILLE. Ind.. Oct. 15 With a team which lives up to the Wabash - slogan, '"Wabash always fights." the. Little Giants are prepared to invade the Chicago camp tomorrow at Stagg Field and every member ot the team firmly believes that Chicago will be beaten cn their own field. They have imbibed their confidence from Coach Vaughan who last week witnessed the Chicago-lJurdue game and then predicted that his team could win from either of the conference schools. The name "Little Giants" is one which has designated the Wabash athletes for a number of years because of the remarkable showing which the teams always make. The college boasts of only three hundred students but the teams have during the pa3t several years been considered the match for many of the largest universities in the country. This year's team is perhaps a little lighter than that of former years but in the opinion of Walter Eckersall who watched them work out they are fast and show the necessary fighting spirit. It Is generally conceded that Wabash will give Chicago a harder game than Purdue played last Saturday.
