Crown Point News Happenings Of A Day In Lake County's Lively Capital.
A mall ion of Mr. .od Mrs. Sidney Anns-worth was quite badly hurt on Friday by falling from a tree. No bona wera broken, but his side was badly crushed. Mrs. Ainsworth was not at home at the time, being in a Gary hospital recovering frcm a minor operation. The local Red Cross are planning to have a visiting nurse in Crown Point in the near future, who will also take charge of the home wrvice section. This will flu a long felt want in our city. She will Inspect the school children and where defective their ailments will be remedied. Mr. and Mrs. Hxsel Groves and son. John of East Chicago, are with the August Johnsons for a couple of days, coming on Friday. County Sheriff Lewis Barnes and a party of friends are leaving today for a month's hunting trip to points In North Dakota. Mrs. Jennie Ward WTieeler la in Valparaiso with his sister Mrs. John Roi5 for Saturday and Sunday. The marriage of Henry A. A. Johnsen, a florist of this city, to Nettie Mae Berry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Berry, took place on Friday afternoon. Judge Howard Kemp performing the cedemony. The bride U 17 and the groom 29 years. They will make their home In Crown Point. Mrs. John Donnaha delightfully entertained the Ladies' Pleasure club at her home on Friday night for their bi-monthly meeting. Mrs. John W. Wheeler and small son. !eft on Friday for her home In Frankfort where she -win spend several weeks. The Wheelers are planning to make their home In Indianapolis to b near Mr. Wheeler's place of business. Court Bailiff J. A. Donnaha will be In Valparaiso on Monday in attendance at the Tolleston bank bandits trial where he was called to testify. Mesdames Fifleld. Houk and Johnson and several other Crown Point women interested in women's suffrage arc in Gary today attending a luncheon given at the T. M. C. A. by the Republican Woman's organization. Mere, man wi'l be admitted to the speeches after the luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Bennett and family will be the guests of Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Lenny over the week end. The Bennetts reside in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Davenport of Chicago came to Crown Point on Friday on their -way to Peru. Ind.. Mrs. McCrillus and son of this city, accompanied them to Peru for a few days visit. Mr. and Mrs. Will Workman of Chicago returned home on Sunday after a weeks visit with Mrs. Bertha Rosen,bauer. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Etlinjr. who have been living la Indianapclis for the past two years where Mr. Etling was employed by the state tax board have returned to Crown Point to retide and it is reported that Mr. Etling will be employed with Kelley-Semmes In Gary. Harry Ensweller of the Gary Tribune visited with his father and mother. Mr. and Mrs. John Ensweiler over Sunday. Fred Tatcham of Chicago came to Crown Point on Friday to spend a couple of days at the home of his uncle Paul Raasch. Miss Mary Mracek of this city has returned home after a few days visit at the home of her brother Albert In Chicago. Herbert Beilefleld of Chicago visited with his family here over the week end. He Is employed in Carson Firie & ScottMiss Georgia Brannon left last week fcr Beloit. where she will enter school.
