NOTHING NEW IN WALL ST. TRAGEDY Six Days Elapse Without a Single Real Clue Being Obtained MHTERNATIONAl NEWS SERVICE NEW YORK, Sept. 22. Six days have elapsed since the fatal and devastating bomb blast In Wall Street, but the authorities were as far from a solution as they have been at any time since the Investigation started. The detectives, both federal and municipal, were admittedly baffled. The master criminal who carried the Infernal machine Into the heart of the financial district with resultant death and destruction and panic Is at large somewhere, but the Investigators have not evin succeeded In getting a description of him upon which to make a definite search. Detectives are making a thorough Investigation In the Paterson. N. J., district, a community formerly notorious for Its anarchist colony. Investigators are generally agreed that the wagon which carried the Infernal machine came to New York from New Jersey. A conference was held today at the office of Fire Commissioner Drennan at

' ITHOUT organization
which will crj-stalllze public opinion, little
Improvements may be expected In road building," says Sir. Frank Baackes, assistant general sales agent, American Steel & Wire Co. "When It is done It will have a twofold effect : "First, It will keep all of the roads open for 365 days in the year, and . "Second, it will lead tb people to believe in themselves so that no public problem may seem too great to tackle. "Every community should have a road club which should begin work by making a score card of every stretch of both main and crossroads, using 3ft5 days passable roads as the basis for working out 'ts percentage. "It is astonishing what a lot of
Improvement can be made by concentrating public opinion. When roads are good the tendency is to always make them better. Hard roads are bound to come, but there is always danger that the specifications or the contractor will be at fault, and while a good deal of money is being paid out the roads may not be up to standard. A concrete highway has to stand up under all kinds of traffic, and In this day of heavy trucks great care must be taken to reinforce the road with steel in such a way that It will stand the maximum of use, and consequently demand a minimum of repairs. "No matter what road laws may be in effect, better results will always come from community organization, and a local pride in having better roads than anybody. Our first duty to ourselves is never to. be mud bound."

AT THE DE LUXE Rarely. If ever, has the placing of a ring upon the finger of another been known to bring immunity from death. Yet tuch was the power of the famous Mystery Ring of the Hill Indians, -wor. ahlppers of the Sun, as portrayed in Clara Kimball Yo-ung'a picture "For the Soul of Rafael," which will come to the De Luxe theater Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Raquel Estevan, the heroine of Marah Ellis iKyan'a story of early California life, waa, by adoption, a member of the tribe of Hill Indians, and according to tribal ritual, attended the ceremony of the New Year, when the Indians relight the sacred fires on their altars In honor of the Sun. She was given gifts of sandals, an Indian robe, and a rng. Late at night she Is led into the hills, where the Indians are. gathered around an altar awaiting their coming. The chief calls upon Raquel to take up a torch, and Pght the torches of the four couriers, who will bear them to the tribes of the four winds. While Raquel is obeying instructions, the Indian sentinels, posted on the trails below, capture two white men, and the chief orders them to be put to death, thinking that they are spies. The nurse whispers to Raquel that if she should put her Indian ring on the hand of one of the white men, they would be saved. Raquel quickly takes her ring off and places It on the hand of Bryton.
TEN CALLS FOR BURNING RUBBISH Six calls were answered by the Hammond Are department last night making about ten since Sunday. Practically all of the fires were the result of carelessness In handling rubbish, according to Chief William Kill who Investigated all of them. Since Sunday three runs have been made to the river bridge on Hohrnan street, where the pilings were found to be on fire. One run was to the north approach of the bridge and two to the south end. Damage was slight. A call was received from State and Hohrnan ?treets last night at 10 o'clock because of rubbish burning in the narrow alley at the rear of the Hohrnan building. This is thought to have been started by crossed electric wires which fell in the rubbish when a sign was taken down. At 9:50 a run was made to the J. ESohllng home. 42 Ogden street, but the small Are had been extinguished before the department arrived. Other
