The finance committee aleo fixed the tax levy at 7t cents on the hundred dollars an Increase of three cents over the levy adopted last year and which was cut to 55 cents by the state tax board when they considered the 73 cent levyexcessive. Under the ne wtax levy, the local tax unit the city council cannot be interferred with by the state board and the 76 cents levy fixed by the council will stand. The levy for general purposes will be 53 cents and for the park board 6 cents. The appropriations for park purposes wait fixed at 196,666.85 of which 1CS.pno will go fo rspecial assessments on streets on park property and J15.0CO replaced in bond issue funds from which it was borrow-d this year to pay special street assessments. Tho new traffic ordinance, covering the parking of autos on designated streets in the businoss district was referred back to the ordinance committee for revision.
